Luggage for CJ

Photoshop is a new tool for me and I used it to create the sign-in luggage for my CJ.  Photoshop is such a comprehensive tool and I was trying to do something rather complex.  At least I thought it was complex.  You'd think I'd try something basic before tackling this task!  I wanted to have a vintage train case with travel stickers applied.  And I didn't want to use scissors and paper.  To create the stickers, I thought I'd use personal photographs and make them look like stickers.  After all, I did ask that everyone include a photo and the location on their sign-in piece.  That said, I had NO CLUE how to accomplish this.

Enter Ashleigh... She uses Photoshop at school and she could teach me, right?  LOL, that was funny.  I got what she taught me on removing backgrounds and created a few stickers - the easy part.  Then I wanted to curve them to follow the shape of the train case when they were applied.  Control, shift, alt "Z", "T", "J", "0"... what?  She directed commands at me so fast I still have no clue how we got the task done.

But we did!  Probably never to be repeated again.  She exited my Krafti Korner and told me to take some tutorials - she's done with me.  Photoshop for Dummies, anyone?  Here's the end result.  Not too bad for an extreme beginner.

Honest Scrap Award

If you say that really fast it and drop the "s"...  Here's my scrap, honestly.

And so now, I'm to pass the award to others who inspire me.  Let's see, it's been passed to those in my circle and those outside it don't know that I lurk on their blogs.  What's a girl to do?  Barb, Sassy, and Carrie - you've been awarded!

I received an AWARD!!!

Can't believe it - my blog is so young - it's hard to believe I've received an AWARD!  It's not the normal sort of award, nonetheless, it is an award.  Thank you, Jenn.  The Honest Scrap requires truth in self perspective, so now I have to do some of that.  I really like the way Melissa turned hers into a scrap page and I'm CASEing it.  I'll be back...

CJ Sign-in Pages

Each participant will get on board with a piece of luggage, a photo of themself while traveling, and where they're at/going in the photo.  I'll post my piece when it is complete...

4 "Must Have" Items - CJ pages

The first two pages of my CJ have been more difficult than I imagined.  What four things MUST I take when I travel?  To my surprise, I have many more than four!  So, I had to whittle them down to just four - what items would say the most about me without sounding neurotic?  Those of you who know me, know that's not always easy!
Travel used to be a twice monthly event for me while I was working and I kept more than a few things always ready.  My cosmetics bags was always stocked and could be thrown in the main luggage anytime.  I also had one business-casual outfit ready to pack.  Being prepared was a tip given to me by a great facilitator years ago.  She traveled weekly and had 3 suits that she only wore when on a business trip.  They were cleaned, pressed and ready to go as soon as she returned from the most recent trip.  I'll always be grateful to her for that tip.  She gave me many Sunday nights with my family
These are what I finally came up with as my four "must have" items.

4 Must Have Items...

While Traveling.  Here's my cover page to the Circle Journal we just started with my creative friends.  I'm excited to see one old friend back in the loop and several new friends join us.  Can't wait to see how we all interpret our individual CJ instructions.

Practice Makes Perfect

This is the bare toolbox that I'm altering for my new Cricut Expression.  I'm practice loading in things to the blog.  Success - ha!

My FIRST post...

Check... it... out! My first post! How kool is this? Now, I just need to spend time contemplating how I want this blog to look/feel and THEN comes the hard work of actually making it happen.

Stay tuned - there's more to this creative journey!
