Welcome to Our Home CJ pages

Elaine - you surely challenged me on this one!  Not totally convinced this is the final outcome.  I'll have to ponder it awhile to be certain I'm satisfied.  Honestly, I'm not one for mulligans; so in the words of a former boss, "it is what it is."

Organza Flowers

Do you ever feel like a pre-schooler who is so proud of their creation they just want to yell, "look Mommy, see what I made?"  That's exactly how I feel today!

Look what I made for a swap...

Alcohol Ink Storage Box

Playing with my stash gives me great pleasure.  Today, I altered a small tin that fits my Alcohol Ink (don't have much right now) and a few Stickles.  The inside needed a liner so things wouldn't rattle around in there, so I used a bit of leftover felt.

Lisa, you'll recognize that flower on the front.  It was just the right touch to finish it off - thank you for the perfect embellishment!

Happy Birthday, Honey!

I've waited to post this until I know hubby won't see it until after he opens the gift.  I've never really done any scrapping for him; however, this mini has been in the making for a couple of years.

I lost track because it was an impromptu thing I started at a weekend crop, several crops ago.  I'm known to do that at crops - get all excited about something others are working on and just have to do it myself.  Anyway, this was actually the first mini I started and it was very time consuming to adhere all the paper crisply and get the curves right.  I had no idea what photos I'd use - I didn't pack any family photos for that particular weekend.  I put the mini away and totally forgot about it, until I reorganized the Krafti Korner a few months ago.

DH will be doubly surprised.  I finished a project AND it's for him.  Happy Birthday, Honey!

Sign-In Book Cover

This journal group of topics is so much fun!  I love that each of us has an out-of-the-box sign in page and that we are creating unique elements for each of the CJs.  Here's my book cover for Paula's.

Favorite Book Characters

Wow, did I struggle with Paula's theme.  As an avid reader, boiling down my favorite characters to just three was difficult indeed!  I came to the realization that I most enjoy strong female characters.  For Paula's CJ, here is a snapshot of those traits I am drawn to regularly.

Snow Day!

This is what it looks like out my bedroom window this morning...
the view from the front door...
here's what I'm seeing in my krafti korner window...

And, the reason I want a nifty, digital SLR camera.  I want to be able to hyperfocus on the branch and blur out the house across the street.  The snow on the crepe myrtle tree is just beautiful and my little canon powershot camera just doesn't take the artistic photos my mind sees.  Hmmm, maybe it does and I don't know how to operate it?

Have I mentioned it's SNOWING in Texas?

So, yesterday I decorated my Cricut toolbox.  I am liking the front; however the trim I added is a bit crooked.  I didn't notice that until I took the photos to post here.  And, I think the layer of embellies on the top might be a bit over the top.  I'll let it rest for awhile and if I still feel it's tacky, then I can remove them.

I had so much fun finally using the Cricut Expression.  Cutting vinyl is EASY - way easier than cutting cardstock!  DH is after me to make his ghost bike stencil, so that will be my next project.  I hoping that plastic is just as easy as vinyl.  We shall see.
